KUCHING: Deputy Natural Resources and Sustainability Minister Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii announced the approval of six Rural Transformation Projects (RTP) in Meradong District.
The projects encompass maintenance works on rural roads, including road widening, culvert installation and concrete pavement.
“I hope that the selected contractors can execute the projects according to the specified specifications and complete the work within the scheduled timeframe,” the Sarikei MP and Repok assemblyman said in a statement on Tuesday (April 9).
The central service team of P.208 Sarikei, led by Gung Chiu Kion on behalf of Huang, along with Churchill Barrak, aassistant engineer of the Meradong and Julau District Council, conducted a survey of the six project sites around Meradong.
Simultaneously, Gung attended the handover ceremony of project sites to the contractors.
“The rural areas set to benefit are Rumah (Rh) Ledi Anom Sg Meradong, Rh Numpang Baba Sg Meradong, Sing Chung Road Sg Bakong, Hua Hung Road Sg Bakong, Nian Sing Road KJD, and Temudak Baru Road KJD,” the statement added.
