MIRI: The eagerly anticipated new hospital block at Miri Hospital is slated to be fully operational by 2025.

Federal Deputy Minister for Health Datuk Lukanisman Awang Sauni said this milestone not only expands Miri Hospital’s capacity by 600 beds but also heralds a new era of healthcare excellence, promising improved access to quality medical services for the community.

“We are at the phase of testing, and installation of cutting-edge medical equipment, which have culminated in this facility.

“With a keen focus on ensuring the highest standards of patient care, the phased approach to staffing and logistical arrangements guarantees a seamless transition to full functionality,” he said.

He was met at the Miri Melanau Association Hari Raya gathering here.

Lukanisman emphasised the importance of not rushing operations during the unveiling of the new block of Miri Hospital.

He said that ensuring thorough testing, equipment installation, and staff training were paramount to guaranteeing smooth functionality and optimal patient care.
