KUCHING: A tour van driver was injured after the van he was driving ended up on the roadside near Kolej Datu Patinggi Abang Haji Abdillah.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre received a distress call at 10.02 am today and dispatched firefighters from the Petra Jaya fire station to the scene which was 5 km away.
The driver had lost control of his vehicle, crashed into a tree and ended up on the roadside near Kolej Datu Patinggi Abang Haji Abdillah.
Firefighters had to extricate the driver out from the van. He was injured on his shoulders and was handed over to medical officers for treatment.
After ensuring the roads were safe for road users, the firefighters ended the operation at 10.25 am.
