KUCHING: A notable surge in interest among local and international visitors towards Sarawak products were evident at the Sarawak Pavilion during the Food and Hotel Asia-Food & Beverage (FHA-F&B) 2024, hosted at the Singapore Expo starting April 23-26.
Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Singapore (STATOS) chairman, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani said that the remarkable increase reflected positively on the attractiveness of Sarawak products and the effectiveness of promotional efforts undertaken.
“I am very pleased that many people are interested in our products. Therefore, we cannot just engage in the local market alone. We need to market our products beyond Sarawak.
“We have reached a high level because we are utilising available technology effectively, and I believe in the near future, we can achieve standards equivalent to those of foreign countries,” he said when met by reporters during his visit to the Sarawak Pavilion on Thursday.
He also expressed his hope that Sarawakian entrepreneurs will continue to improve their products, and use the available platforms for marketing purposes.
Meanwhile, the Deputy State Secretary (Operation), Datuk Hii Chang Kee said that STATOS would continue to strive and promote Sarawak products through various platforms.
“I hope that Sarawak can hold the Sarawak Fair next year, especially to introduce and promote Sarawak products more extensively,” he added.
He reiterated that these steps are important to ensure that the uniqueness and diversity of Sarawak products are appreciated and recognised by more people, both domestically and internationally.
“This is a great opportunity for us to showcase the uniqueness of Sarawak products, and STATOS will work diligently to achieve that goal,” said Hii.
