PUTRAJAYA: Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad (BPHB) aims to strengthen its position as a key export hub for the oil and gas industry while expanding into biomass, petrochemicals, and clean energy sectors.

Chairman Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki said during the company’s 28th Annual General Meeting (AGM) that the infrastructure enhancements and acquisitions of new port equipment are part of the company’s development roadmap to meet market demands.

He went on to commend the group’s resilience and commitment to excellence, unveiling the Integrated Annual Report for 2023.

Meanwhile, Group CEO Ruslan Abdul Ghani outlined strategic priorities, including enhancing core port operations and diversifying into new business areas.

Emphasising a customer-centric approach and value-driven outcomes, he introduced a new corporate culture.

In its pursuit of environmental sustainability, BPHB is dedicated to achieving Net Zero Carbon Emission (NZCE) by 2050. Initiatives such as tree planting and CSR programs underscore the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship.

Its commitment to diversity and inclusivity is evident through initiatives like the ‘Bintulu Port Women Leaders’ network and the Srikandi Programme, empowering its female workforce.

Through strategic partnerships and community engagements, Bintulu Port reaffirms its support for Sarawak’s socioeconomic development and the government’s vision of establishing the region as Asia’s Renewable Powerhouse.

During the AGM held at Putrajaya Marriott Hotel, BPHB showcased its performance in 2023, reporting a cargo handling capacity of 48.77 million metric tonnes and a substantial increase in vessel calls.

With revenue reaching RM821.64mil, driven by activities in the oil and gas sector and marine operations, the company demonstrated robust growth.
