KUCHING: The Magistrate’s Court here ordered a 22-year-old local man to maintain peace for six months after he punched a colleague who had reprimanded him at work.
Chong Wee Hong, 22, pleaded guilty to a charge under Section 67 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC), which was read by Magistrate Mason Jaro Lenya Barayan.
He committed the offense at a grocery store in Jalan Song around 8.15 pm on April 28.
According to case details, Chong punched the victim on the right cheek and brandished a knife during the incident.
The victim sustained minor injuries and filed a police report, prompting further investigation.
The investigation revealed that the assault occurred after the victim reprimanded Chong for his work performance.
To prevent further incidents, the court ordered Chong to maintain peace for six months and set bail at RM500.
