MIRI: Thousands of mourners and family members gathered at the BEM Canada Hill Church today to pay their final respects to the late Senate President, Datuk Mutang Tagal.

Among the dignitaries present at the solemn ceremony were Azerbaijanian Ambassador to Malaysia Irfan Dadudov and Deputy Senate President Datuk Nur Jazlan Tan Sri Mohamed.

The casket bearing the remains of Datuk Mutang arrived at 10.30 am, followed by a procession to the church hall at 10.40 am.

The order of service included prayers led by Reverend Bina Agong  and bible readings.

Eulogies were delivered by the late Datuk Mutang’s three children, namely Rining, Saran and Bian, as well as his sister, Sandra Munga.

The ceremony concluded with a closing prayer led by Reverend Robinson Simunyi.

Following the service, the casket will depart for Fairy Park Miri at 1 pm for the burial ceremony at 1.30 pm.

Reverend Robinson will lead the burial prayers, marking the final farewell.
