KOTA SAMARAHAN: Two men, reported missing after failing to return home from searching for clams at a project site along Jalan Tanjong Bako-Samarahan, have been found safe and sound on Monday (May 13).

Kawi Entinggi, 54, and Adi Alet, 42, were discovered on the other side of a creek around 11.40am.

A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the duo were found at a swamp forest area about 1km away from the search and rescue (SAR) control post.

It is believed that the duo were unable to cross the creek due to high tide. Both men were unharmed and only experienced fatigue.

Rescuers used a boat to rescue them and took them to the Sarawak Heart Centre for further medical examination.

Following their discovery, the search was called off at 1pm.

On Sunday (May 12), Kawi and Adi went out to search for clams at noon at a project site across the Kota Samarahan Industrial Training Institute.
