Seamless procurement initiative

SARAWAK is embarking on implementing an e-Procurement System to ensure seamless procurement processes.
 
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said that with the initiative, procurement exercises will be conducted digitally to enhance efficiency, effectiveness and transparency of government procurement processes.
 
Uggah, who is Second Minister for Finance and New Economy, said the development of the system is divided into three stages.
 
“For stage 1, the development of the e-Direct Purchase module has been completed and will be rolled out by year-end.
 
“In stage 2, the development of the e-Quotation module is ongoing and has achieved 72 per cent completion.
 
“Lastly, under Stage 3, the development of the e-Tender module will be implemented upon completion of Stage 2,” he said during his ministerial winding-up speech in the State Legislative Assembly today.
 
He assured that the government aspired to ensure a seamless procurement ecosystem in Sarawak.
