MIRI: Kampung Long Bemang, a longhouse with 103 doors and home to 558 villagers, has been flooded following heavy rains that began on Sunday.
As of 7.20 this morning, the water level had risen to 1.6 feet, with the trend continuing to increase.
The flooding began to escalate yesterday (May 20), affecting the entire community.
Despite the rising waters, there have been no evacuations reported.
The Long Bemang volunteer fire brigade confirmed that all villagers remained in their homes. The situation is being closely monitored.
Local authorities are on standby, ready to assist if the situation worsens.
