MUKAH: The handing over of Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants is evidence of the Sarawak government’s concern for its people.
Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi said that with the grant given, the people can use it to do activities together.
“Not only that, the grants they receive can be used for the implementation of activities in their respective areas,” he said adding that he hoped that the grant could be utilised as best as possible by the recipient.
He stated this in the MRP Grant Presentation Ceremony of the Balingian District held at the Mukah District office on Monday.
Yakub also insisted the recipients to prepare an activity report for auditing purpose on the implementation of the grant.
“In Sarawak, we have an Integrity and Ombudsman Unit that monitors all expenses channeled by the government.
“Because of that, I hope that a report can be prepared after the recipient receives this grant,” he explained.
Meanwhile, a total of 26 recipients received the MRP grant totalling RM215,000. Also present during the ceremony was Mukah acting district officer, Peleadzman Ahip.
