KUCHING: The Sarawak Gastronomy (SAGO) Incubator this year featured eight innovative food and beverage entreprises aimed at fostering innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship in Sarawak’s culinary landscape.
Director of SAGO Group Sdn Bhd Evelyn Teo said that the programme was participated by passionate individuals representing the future of Sarawak’s food and beverages sector.
“And with their innovative ideas and unwavering commitment to excellence, they’re poised to make waves in the culinary world.
“Guided by our esteemed mentors, Marichelle from Lepau, Mastika from Mom’s Laksa, Saiful from SPL Food Industries, Mala from Smoke West Borneo, Kawi from Anas Popcorn, Awet from Toko Daging, and Damith from Ceylonese Restaurant, they’re ready to turn their dreams into reality,” said Evelyn.
She said this in her speech during the launching of SAGO Incubator 2024 at the Grounds Premium Coworking Space, The Hills here on Thursday.
She also said that SAGO Incubator is more than just a programme as it is a catalyst for change, innovation, and community building.
“By supporting these entrepreneurs, we’re not only nurturing individual talent but also driving the broader development of Sarawak’s economy, culture, and society,” she added.
On a related note, Evelyn said SAGO Festival will be held from July 20 to 22 while the Borneo Tuak Festival will be on September 14 to 17.
“Last year, our SAGO Festival attracted more than 12,000 visitors and Borneo Tuak Festival attracted more than 4,000 visitors, hopefully, this year we can grow even bigger! Get ready to feast your senses and we promise even more exciting new activities this year,” she said.
