KUCHING: Pustaka Negeri Sarawak (PUSTAKA) is participating in the 41st edition of the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (PBAKL) held at the Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur from May 24 to June 3.
The PBAKL is the largest book fair in Malaysia, organised by the federal Ministry of Education and the National Book Council of Malaysia (MBKM).
“PBAKL is a major annual event in the country’s book calendar. This eagerly awaited annual event continues to be the main platform for book lovers, publishers, authors, and readers from around the world to gather and share their passion for the literary world.
“This time, Pustaka has collaborated with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) as a synergy partner and has invited local Sarawak author, Fiezawati Kaderi, to showcase her works at the ‘ooo-haa! Sarawak’ booth to enliven the atmosphere,” PUSTAKA said in a statement on Saturday.
The State Library also said that programmes and activities at the ‘ooo-haa! Sarawak’ booth included Customers’ Day, Pustaka membership registration, the Sarawak Darul Makmur Quiz, sales of PUSTAKA Negeri Sarawak Publications, Meet & Greet sessions with local authors, sales of local author works, sales of publications from UNIMAS, and many more.
“The Meet & Greet sessions at the ‘ooo-haa! Sarawak’ booth feature three local authors namely Dr. Hazami Jahari, author of the book “Pantun Melayu Sarawak: Beraie Timbang Lamak,” Lokman Hakim, author of the book “Kronikel Dewata Toh Rimpun Alam,” and Bahruddin Bekri, author of the book “Lelaki Berkasut Merah”, it added.
Therefore, the public is invited to visit the ‘ooo-haa! Sarawak’ booth where many exciting prizes await.
