MUKAH: Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) have been urged to carry out community service (gotong-royong) for projects in their respective areas.

Deputy Minister of Economy cum Mukah MP, Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib stated that through residents’ cooperation, gotong-royong activities could be executed efficiently.

“With the expertise possessed by each village resident, it will undoubtedly be easier to undertake a project. However, it must be noted that long-term quality is the primary concern in project implementation,” she said during the Opening Ceremony of the New Jetty in Kampung Tabo here on Thursday (May 30).

Regarding the new jetty, she cited it was an initiative under the Special Projects Grant by Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.

“The implementation of this project is not only quick but also highly beneficial, providing great utility to the residents of Kampung Tabo and its surrounding areas,” she added.

In the afternoon, Datuk Hanifah also hosted a Yassin Recitation and Tahlil ceremony for her late father and former Governor of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud.
