MIRI: A 21-year-old man experienced a shocking start to his day when he discovered a one-metre-long python curled up inside the toilet bowl of his home in Kampung Piasau Utara 1A here, today.

The startling encounter occurred this morning as he was about to use the bathroom.

The distressed individual, whose identity has been withheld, immediately made an urgent call to the Miri Civil Defence Force (APM) at 11.34 am.

Describing his harrowing experience, he recounted the moment he stumbled upon the snake, noting it was curled up within the toilet bowl.

Prioritising safety, the man promptly contacted APM for assistance.

Responding swiftly, an APM squad arrived at the scene equipped with special tools for snake capture.

The squad captured the batik python, which measured one metre in length and was as thick as a child’s arm.

After ensuring the snake posed no further danger, it was safely returned to its natural habitat.

The complainant expressed relief and gratitude for the quick and efficient response by APM.
