MUKAH: The operating hours of the ferry service in Mukah Division will be extended from June 14 to June 17 in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration.
Sarawak Public Works Department (PWD) said the locations involved were Kuala Igan, Muara Lassa and Batang Paloh.
“For Kuala Igan, Ferry 1 starts operating from 4 am to 12 midnight and Ferry 2 from 6 am to 12 midnight.
“Meanwhile, for Ferry 1 and Ferry 2 in Muara Lassa and Batang Paloh, both start operating from 6 am until 12 midnight,” PWD said in a notice, today.
The department explained that the extension of the service hours will facilitate the journey of ferry users as well as reduce vehicle congestion at the ferry base ahead of Hari Raya Aidiladha and the public holiday season.
Accordingly, ferry users are advised to plan their itinerary and always adhere to the instructions of the ferry staff and the standard operating procedures (SOP) that have been set.
