SARATOK: Another five longhouses have thrown their weight behind Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) in the Kalaka state constituency.
It reflects the people’s confidence in the party’s leadership and acceptance of the policies adopted by the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) state government, said Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri .
“Thank you to the residents of Rumah Panjang Rengan Selambong, Rumah Panjang Anau, Rumah Panjang David, Rumah Panjang Ambang in Entebu, and Rumah Panjang Nyawai Tinting Jelai.
“With their participation, the membership of PBB in the Kalaka constituency has increased.
“This proves that the policies and struggles of PBB and GPS are accepted, indicating strong support and trust in the leadership of PBB,” he said.
He mentioned this at the Ngiling Bidai Gawai Dayak 2024 event at Rumah Panjang Rengan, which included the symbolic submission of membership forms to become members of PBB Kalaka.
Previously, residents of Rumah Panjang Ikom, Senyawan, and Rumah Embol, Sungai Anak also expressed full support for PBB.
“Strong support from the longhouse communities is crucial.
“As a representative, I strive to fulfil every request in return for the people’s support.
“My commitment is to ensure that every area receives attention, even if it is done in stages,” he added.
Mohamad, who is also a member of the PBB Supreme Council, urged everyone to maintain harmony and prosperity among the various ethnic groups and religions in Sarawak.
“With the people united under the Sarawak government, efforts to develop Sarawak in general and the rural areas, in particular, can be carried out smoothly.
“The slogan Segulai Sejalai, Sarawak Maju Makmur, and Utamakan Sarawak is a strength that everyone should understand.
“I believe that the government and party leadership are not just making empty promises about taking Sarawak to a higher level,” he added.
The membership form submission ceremony was witnessed by Senator Pele Peter Tinggom.
Also present were the Deputy Head of the PBB Kalaka Branch, Kasdi Pandi and the Secretary of the PBB Kalaka Branch, Gapor Ahmad.
