SIBU: Farley Riang Ria 2024 will be held at Farley Supermarket (Farley) at Jalan Salim here on Sept 1 (Sunday).
According to the organising chairperson Sie Sing Ying,the ‘Jom Sihat, Jom Riang Ria’ programme will commences at 5.30 am on that day. Aimed at promoting the development of physical health, it features family friendly activities.
“Health education is taught through various types of practical activities and fun games. Each activity is specially designed to focus on mental and physical health for all ages including children, adults and the seniors,” she told a press conference here yesterday (June 21).
Sie, who is also Farley human resources executive, said the event would feature a fun walk with a distance of 1.6 kilometres for Category A and a fun run with a distance of six kilometres for Category B.
She added the participation fee for Category A was RM35 each for adult early birds.
After the registration deadline on Aug 1, RM40 will be charged.
For Category B, it is RM50 each for early bird adult registration. After Aug 1, RM55 will be charged.
For children aged 12 and below, the participation fee is fixed at RM20 each.
Entry forms are available at Farley Sibu Member Centre or register through E-registration. The closing date for registration for both categories is Aug 17.
Sie said for the fun walk, each participant was entitled to receive a free T-shirt, a goodie bag and breakfast. He or she is encouraged to participate in 15 types of fun games.
The fun run is divided into male and female sections; the champion will receive RM500 cash, first runner-up RM300 and second runner-up RM200.
Five consolation prizes of RM100 each are up for grabs. Each participant will receive a free T-shirt, breakfast and a finisher medal.
“After the announcement of the results of the fun run, we will have hold a lucky draw session, with prizes worth totalling RM10,000.
“The first prize is an Ipad 10.9, second prize a Vivo Y100 5G, third prize a Sharp 42″ HD TV, fourth prize a Midea 236 L refrigerator, fifth prize a Midea washing machine (9.5kg), sixth prize a Khind 250W cordless vacuum and seventh prize a Xiaomi smart watch band 8 pro.
“During the programme, various side activities will be on; they include free health screening, face painting, a clown show and a photo booth,” Sie added.
Also present at the press conference were Farley manager Yeo Soon Teck and Farley cafe manager Wong Siong Ming.
