KUCHING: The Department of Culture and Arts, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MoTAC), in collaboration with strategic partner Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas), will organise the first series of the “Bicara Tokoh Seni Budaya” programme for 2024, titled “Digital Art Revolution”.
To be held on Tuesday (June 25) from 9am to 12pm at the Experimental Stage, Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts (FSGK) Unimas, this programme is the inaugural session of the year.
“This talk show-style programme aims to discuss the successes, experiences, views, knowledge sharing, and expertise of icons/industry players in the performing arts field,” it said in a statement on Monday (June 24).
“It indirectly provides an opportunity for the public, especially students, to approach and share experiences and successes with these icons.
“A highlight of the programme is the inspirational stories shared by invited panellists, motivating young people and students, especially in facing current challenges related to the theme.”
The programme will feature experienced icons such as Ts Adil Hidayat Rosli, a technology entrepreneur and educator specialising in computer networks; and Datuk Ahmad Tamimi Siregar Kamaruddin, a renowned Malaysian veteran actor, host, singer and director.
“The programme serves as a platform for sharing knowledge and experiences among invited panellists and participants.
“Additionally, it signifies a good collaborative effort between JKKN and Unimas to strengthen cultural cooperation networks for the excellence of cultural arts.
“We hope such cooperation can continue in the future,” said Rosnan Nordin, deputy director-general of the Cultural and Arts Sector, Department of Culture and Arts.
