KUCHING: A total of 73 donors have participated in the joint blood donation drive yesterday.

The programme was organised by the Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR), Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) and Kuching Division Journalists Association (KDJA) in collaboration with the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH ) Blood Bank as well as Plaza Merdeka Shopping Mall.

UNIFOR director Datuk Jack Aman Luat, said that the blood donation drive was part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme to give back to the community.

“I am very pleased with the good turnout today. This is the second time we have organised a blood donation drive to help replenish the blood supply for the Sarawak General Hospital.

“We plan to continue organising this programme and welcome other government agencies or non-government organisations (NGOs) to collaborate with us in the future,” he said in a press statement.

Earlier this year, UNIFOR organised its first blood donation alongside UKAS.
