KUCHING: An early morning destroyed a house at Jalan Chong Foh Hing Batu 7, here today.
Bomba received a distress call at 8.21am and promptly dispatched units from Batu Lintang and Tabuan Jaya fire stations to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a two-story semi-permanent house engulfed in flames. The fire had already caused nearly total destruction to the 60 x 60 feet structure.
The firefighters, comprising 18 members in two fire engines and two Hilux vehicles, extinguished the blaze with a 300-feet hose reel, and two water jets.
Firefighters coordinated their efforts efficiently. Their quick action ensured that all three adult male occupants of the house escaped unharmed.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
