KUCHING: A total of 21 finalists for Miss Stellar World Malaysia Borneo 2024 arrived at the Grand Riverine Ballroom, here on Friday afternoon in preparation for the final competition on June 30.
The competition features three categories: Miss (18 to 29), Ms (30 to 44), and Ms Elite (45 and above) from Sabah and Sarawak.
According to the director of Miss Stellar World Malaysia Borneo 2024, Kimi Tomas, she is committed to promoting Sarawak/Borneo culture to all queens worldwide through beauty pageants.
“Currently, I am diligently working on my inaugural project, Miss Stellar World Malaysia Borneo 2024, having acquired this franchise from the United States (USA). Only the top five will proceed to the national level. It’s a significant responsibility for me, as I will be bringing participants from Sarawak and Sabah to the national stage,” she revealed during a press conference.
More excitingly, she mentioned that the subsequent winner will compete in Atlanta, USA representing Malaysia.
For the Miss Stellar World Malaysia 2024 category, participants include Fiza Lucas, 22, Iban-Melanau (Bintulu), Phoebe Chloe, 19, Orang Ulu-Iban (Miri), Marryna Yong, 22, Iban-Chinese (Miri), Adline Teo, 26, Orang Ulu-Chinese (Sibu), Jesrina Roslivia, 27, Bidayuh (Sibu), Nicole Gabriella, 22, Bidayuh (Kuching), Jaqqualyne Augustine, 26, Iban (Kuching), Nara Kennedy, 24, Iban (Kuching), and Doraty Ann, 26, Bidayuh (Kuching).
Followed by seven participants from Ms Stellar World Malaysia Borneo 2024: Rachel Ujai, 42, Iban (Kuching), Dahliani Mingai, 42, Kedayan (Kuching), Mardiana Dickson, 32, Iban-Melanau (Miri), Traisy Vivien, 30, Iban-Bidayuh (Kuching), Pauline Jagan, 41, Iban (Sibu), Priscilla Yii, 36, Iban-Chinese (Kuching), and Priscilla Thomas, 36, Bidayuh (Kuching).
In addition, five participants from Ms Elite Stellar World Malaysia Borneo: Ani Mustapah, 48, Bajau (Kota Kinabalu), Joanna Kitingan, 66, Kadazan-Dusun (Kota Kinabalu), Kristena Gawan, 53, Iban (Sibu), Sofea Yusuf, 47, Malay (Kuching), and Julia Thomson, 47, Iban (Kuching).
Meanwhile, Kimi invites the public to witness the final stage of Miss Stellar World Malaysia Borneo 2024, which will be held at the Grand Riverine Ballroom here tomorrow (June 30).
An Iban hailing from Saratok, she mentioned that as part of her advocacy and goal to promote Borneo internationally, she hopes the winner will come from Sarawak or Sabah.
Kimi aims to inspire more people both locally and internationally to learn more about and discover Sarawak as a whole.
