Chinese business chambers to hold AGM on July 13

KUCHING: The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sarawak (ACCCIS) will convene its 2024 Annual General Meeting on July 13 at Seri Simanggang Hotel in Simanggang.

In a statement it said the AGM agenda includes key items such as the adoption of the annual report, acceptance of the Audited Financial Statement, discussions on motions from constituent members, appointment of an auditor, selection of the venue for the next AGM, and other relevant matters.

It added that Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian will preside as the guest of honour for the event.

The opening ceremony will feature speeches by President of Simanggang Chinese Chamber of Commerce Datuk Dr Ngu Piew Seng, ACCCIS President Kong Chiong Ung, and Dr Sim.

Awards for the 2023/2024 Membership Drive Campaign will also be presented during this ceremony.

The ACCCIS’s Young Entrepreneurs Committee will hold the Young Entrepreneurs Conference 2024 on July 12 at 1.30pm. At 3pm, there will be a preparatory meeting for ACCCIS’s AGM.
In the evening at 630pm, the Simanggang Chinese Chamber of Commerce will host a dinner at a local restaurant to welcome all representatives from across Sarawak.

The Young Entrepreneurs Conference 2024 aims to provide a platform for local young entrepreneurs in Sarawak to enhance interaction and communication, fostering business opportunities and networks.

This annual event invites all young entrepreneurs from the region to participate.

The Conference will consist of two main parts: a forum-style session where presidents of six constituent members of ACCCIS will discuss “Driving the Growth of SMEs in Sarawak,” and a seminar-style session featuring presentations by Affin Bank on financing products and Finsource Sdn Bhd on navigating challenges in the capital market.
