BINTULU: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Sarawak Skills and Advanced Technology Training Centre (ADTEC) Bintulu was signed and witnessed by Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD), Datuk Seri Roland Sagah Wee In at ADTEC Bintulu on Wednesday (July 3).
The objective is to align training programmes with industry needs to ensure graduates are job-ready, enhance youth employability, and contribute to Sarawak’s economic growth.
“This MoU offer students new opportunities for practical experience through internships and industrial attachments, fostering hands-on training and exposure to real-world challenges in collaboration with industry partners, thereby preparing them for successful careers in their chosen fields,” Sagah stated.
He explained that the state government is committed to promoting diversification and sustainable development with initiatives aimed at encouraging investments in renewable energy, tourism, and manufacturing sectors.
“Sarawak’s proactive measures in fostering a business-friendly environment, including policies that promote innovation, attract investments, and support start-ups, have led to a thriving technology sector, establishing Sarawak as a hub for technological advancements,” he said adding that a skilled workforce would position the state to seize significant opportunities.
Among those attending the event were Deputy of MEITD, Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, Human Resources Department deputy director-general Kamaruzaman Md Ali and Sarawak Skills managing director Hallman Sabri.
