KUCHING: Civil servants play an important role in the effort to improve efficiency in rendering government services to the people.
Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development, Datuk Rubiah Wang said,it is not easy to carry out duties and responsibilities in line with the set procedures and guidelines without cooperation between staff and the administration.
“To achieve success, we need the cooperation of both parties to ensure our stakeholders, especially the state government and also our leaders in the Samarahan division and its people, receive the best service from civil servants,” she said.
She was speaking at the prize presentation for the bowling competition organised by Majlis Bersama Jabatan or MBJ (Employees) Pentadbiran Bahagian Samarahan here on Saturday (July 6).
But Rubiah, who is also Kota Samarahan Member of Parliament said there is a strong commitment from all government servants in Kota Samarahan in delivering services.
“We need to continue to work hard to ensure that there are many more reforms that we can implement in Kota Samarahan,” she said.
Towards this end she reminded Samarahan civil servants that many programmes and activities will be carried out, and hoped their implementation will run smoothly.
“We need insightful ideas from civil servants so that our working methods can be improved,” she said.
During the event, Rubiah pledged RM20,000 to MBJ for them to run their activities.
