PADAWAN: Police have arrested three local men in connection with a recent shooting incident that injured three other men behind a supermarket along Mile 19, Jalan Kuching-Serian.
Padawan police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi confirmed that the arrests took place between 8pm to 11pm last Monday.
“Three local men, aged between 23 and 26, were picked up by police around Mile 17 and Mile 18 areas.
“All of the suspects are being remanded for seven days until July 16 to facilitate investigations,” he said.
At 1.57am on Monday, police received a police report from a 26-year-old man claiming that three of his friends were shot with a shotgun behind a supermarket along Mile 19, Jalan Kuching-Serian.
Preliminary investigations found that the victims, aged 24 and 25, sustained gunshot wounds to their bodies.
All of them are currently in stable condition at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), where they are receiving treatment.
The case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code and Section 8 of the Firearms (Increased Penalty) Act 1971 for attempted murder and unlawful possession of a firearm.
