SIBURAN: Discussions on the revival of direct flights between Miri and Manila, Philippines are still ongoing, said Datuk Dr Jerip Susil.

The Deputy Transport Minister said he will continue to follow up with his ministry on the direct flights.

“Flight schedules are variable, mainly because of the legal factors.

“That being said. whichever airline company wants to conduct direct flights should look into the legal factors first,” he said when met by reporters after officiating at the Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS) Project of Dream Realised Roadshow 2024 at Siburan Community Hall here today.

Asked if there are other flights the Transport Ministry is also working on, Dr Jerip said they are working on the possibility of reviving the direct flights between Kuching and Shenzhen, China.

“Because previously we do have a direct flight between both of the cities and we are looking into the possibility of reviving that flight again,” he added.
