SIBU: Teachers are encouraged to inspire their students to dream big and nurture their talents.

During a Teachers’ Day dinner celebration held at a prominent hotel in Sibu, Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government, Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee emphasised the importance of dedication in teaching.

He highlighted that dedication doesn’t require going the extra mile or doing something extraordinary; instead, it means doing what is necessary to ensure that our children dare to excel in their endeavours and have a positive outlook on life.

Tiang acknowledged that teachers play a vital role in shaping children’s education. Without teachers, there would be no schools, and without schools, children would not have a bright future.

He urged teachers to instil in their students the belief that they are capable of achieving their dreams and that hard work is essential in realizing those dreams.

Tiang recognised the significance of teachers’ efforts and expressed gratitude for their hard work, emphasizing the need to collaborate in inspiring children to become confident leaders in the future.

He extended the department’s respect and appreciation to all teachers, recognizing their role not only as knowledge disseminators but also as moral exemplars who nurture students into society’s pillars.

Kiew called for continuous collaboration to enhance the quality of education and prioritize the growth and development of every student, ensuring a brighter future for children.
