BINTULU: A driver and his passengers escaped with minor injuries after their sports utility vehicle (SUV) crashed and overturned this morning.
The accident, involving a Toyota Fortuner, happened around 8.25 am along Jalan Pesisir Bintulu-Samalaju.
Firefighters from Samalaju station were dispatched to the scene, about 10km away, after receiving an emergency call.
Upon arrival, they discovered the vehicle overturned on its side by the roadside. The victims, aged 30, 41 and 52, had already been rescued by members of the public.
They sustained minor injuries and received initial treatment on-site before being taken to Bintulu Hospital for further care.
