KUCHING: The Magistrate’s Court here ordered a local man to maintain a six-month peace bond for threatening to kill his brother after refusing to wash the dishes.

Asmi, 50, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali to a charge under Section 67 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

The incident happened on June 30 at their late father’s house in Kampung Bintangor.

According to the case facts, the 54-year-old complainant had an argument with his younger brother around 10.30am.

Investigations revealed that Asmi threatened to kill his brother while holding a vegetable cutting knife. The dispute arose when Asmi became angry after his brother told him to wash the dishes after eating.

Fearing for his safety, the complainant filed a police report for further action.

ASP Arman Ibrahim prosecuted the case while, Asmi was unrepresented by counsel.
