MIRI: MP Chiew Choon Man has reached out to the family of murder victim Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah with financial assistance.
Today (July 17), he presented a cash donation her mother Salmah Abdullah to ease the burden on the family, who travelled from Miri to Kuala Lumpur.
Chiew reassured the family of his continued support.
“As Miri MP, I am always ready to help them through these challenging times. They can contact me or my staff if they need any help, especially when they are in Selangor.”
Chiew also met with police officers at the Hulu Selangor district police headquarters to discuss the case.
“Thank you to the police for their quick response on this case. I have been assured that the authorities are doing their best to achieve justice for all.
“The statement by the Inspector-General of Police yesterday, that the police will conduct investigations with transparency and fairness, is highly appreciated and will continue to increase people’s confidence in the rule of law in our country,” Chiew said.
He urged the public not to speculate on the case or make statements that could cause further distress the family.
“Give space to the family members of the victim as well as police officers in carrying out their duties,” he said.
The body of Nur Farah Kartini, 25, who had been missing since July 10 after delivering a rental car to a customer, was discovered in an oil palm plantation area in Kampung Sri Kledang, Hulu Selangor, around 6pm on Monday.
