KUCHING: Koperasi Belia Inovatif Sarawak Berhad (KOBIS Berhad) recently conducted a courtesy visit to the Malaysia Co-operative Societies Commission (SKM) at its office here.
The meeting focused on discussions around youth empowerment and the advancement of co-operative movement in Sarawak, aligning with the goals of Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS2030).
“During the session, KOBIS Berhad shared insights into their ongoing business activities and social initiatives.
“The cooperative’s efforts are particularly focused on empowering youth to become high-income earners by 2030.
‘Notably, KOBIS Berhad’s property projects aim to provide affordable accommodation solutions for young people migrating to urban areas, supporting their transition and growth in new environments,” KOBIS said in its press release.
KOBIS added that its inclusion as one of the top 50 cooperatives in Sarawak is a testament to its commitment to excellence and innovation within the cooperative sector.
“At the same time, our meeting with SKM Sarawak reinforces our dedication to not only enhance our business ventures but also to drive social change, particularly in youth empowerment,” it added.
The visit also marked KOBIS Berhad’s continuous growth and development, celebrating over a decade of service since its establishment. Having passed its 10-year milestone last year, KOBIS Berhad remains committed to fostering leadership and entrepreneurial skills among young people in Sarawak.
