MIRI: Firefighters from Fire and Rescue Department (BOMBA) Lutong Fire Station and personnel from the Miri Civil Defence Force (APM) were busy responding to multiple calls about fallen trees caused by strong winds on Friday night.

According to Lutong Fire Station chief Henry Jugah, the first call came in at 9.03 pm.

Upon arriving at the scene at Lane 1-5, Lot 7563-1-15, Bandar Baru Permyjaya, firefighters from Lopeng Fire Station found a large tree blocking the road.

After assessing the situation, a team of five firefighters from Lutong Fire Station used a chainsaw to cut and remove the tree.

The operation was completed within 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, in Lorong 15 Taman Ceria Permyjaya, the Miri civil defenders were also busy clearing a fallen tree blocking the road.

Upon receiving the report, they immediately dispatched a team to the location.

Although the operation took nearly an hour, the team successfully cleared the road without any reported injuries.
