BINTULU: A local man died from severe head injuries following a two-vehicle collision along Jalan Pesisir Tatau-Bintulu today (July 25).
Bintulu police chief Supt Nixon Joshua Ali said the accident, involving a motorcycle and a pick-up truck, happened around 7.05am near Kampung Tani Jepak.
“The victim is believed to have lost control of his motorcycle, veered into the opposite lane and collided with the pick-up truck that was travelling to Jepak from Tatau.
“The impact caused the victim to be thrown off his motorcycle onto the road.
“As a result, the 24-year-old man sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics,” he said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the pick-up truck driver escaped unscathed in the accident.
In view of this, Nixon urged the public not to speculate or spread false information regarding the case.
