Miri: A motorcyclist lost his life in a tragic three-vehicle collision near the Bintang Mall traffic light at Jalan Miri-Pujut early this morning.

According to Miri Police Chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, two other motorists also sustained injuries in the incident.

Based on the facts of the case, police received a report about the collision at 6:05 am.

The crash involved a Honda City driven by a 43-year-old woman, a Perodua Myvi driven by a 62-year-old man, and a Yamaha Ego motorcycle ridden by a 75-year-old man.

Initial investigations revealed that the Honda City, which was heading towards Pujut, lost control and veered into the opposite lane, colliding with both the motorcycle and the Perodua Myvi, which were heading towards Airport Road.

The motorcyclist died at the scene, while the other two drivers suffered minor injuries.

The police have opened an investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
