KUCHING: The state-level National Month and Jalur Gemilang Hoisting 2024 launching ceremony is set to take place this Saturday at the CIDB Convention Centre here.

The ceremony will be officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.

This event continues from the National Month and Jalur Gemilang 2024 launch previously held by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on July 21 at Cyber Event Mall, Cyberjaya.

Under the theme ‘Malaysia MADANI: Spirit of Independence,’ the event will feature various key activities, including the Launch of the National Month and Jalur Gemilang for Sarawak 2024, the Launch and Release of the Merdeka Jalur Gemilang Convoy (KMJG) for Sarawak 2024, and the Mini MADANI Community Carnival.

The event will also include entertainment performances by PENTARAMA, Rahmah Sales, national exhibitions by departments and agencies, interactive national activities, fire-fighting demonstrations, VR (Virtual Reality) experiences on the Life of Prophet Muhammad, and more.

Additionally, 500 units of ice cream will be distributed for free to the public.

There will also be a performance by the MADANI Community Choir, featuring a collaboration of the MADANI Community from the Petra Jaya parliamentary constituency, and a flash mob with artistes from PENTARAMA, the Malaysian Information Department (JAPEN), Sarawak, and students from the Malaysian School of the Arts, Sarawak.

The KMJG for Sarawak 2024 will start after the kick-off by the Deputy Prime Minister from the CIDB Convention Centre, proceeding to Kampung Bratan Padawan, and will be executed in three phases.

Phase 1 of KMJG2024 will begin on August 6, 2024, in Lundu and Bau, and on August 10 in Serian and Samarahan, while phase 2 will run from August 25 to 31, covering Bintulu, Miri, Brunei Darussalam, Lawas, Limbang, Tatau, Tanjung Manis, Mukah, Dalat, and Kuching.

Additionally, phase 3 will take place from September 10 to 16, 2024, in Kapit, Song, Kanowit, Sarikei, Meradong, Julau, Saratok, Betong, Lubok Antu, and Sri Aman.

As such, the public is encouraged to show their patriotic spirit through the 1 House 1 Jalur Gemilang (1R1JG) initiative, which promotes national pride by displaying the Jalur Gemilang.
