SIBU: Several packages containing phones, thermos, phone accessories and washing liquids, were destroyed in a pre-dawn fire at Sibu Bus Terminal today.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said they received an emergency call around 3.17 am and deployed firefighters from Sungai Merah station to the scene.
Upon arrival, the team found that the fire had not caused any structural damage and did not involve any waste as previously reported.
Instead, the flames had engulfed the packages which were placed next to a cargo bus company.
The extinguishing deed was performed using water sourced from their fire truck, followed by overhaul works to ensure that there was no reignition.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
