Off-White has another star collaboration in the works — this time, with the luxury menswear retailer Mr Porter.
The cult streetwear brand, helmed by designer Virgil Abloh, is embarking on its biggest collaboration to date with the online retailer, reports Business of Fashion (BoF). The result is a 44-piece capsule collection that is set to go on sale on January 21.
Dubbed ‘Modern Office,’ the series will focus on work attire, spanning minimalist separates such as trousers, shirts and jackets, with quirky stylistic details. It also includes accessories such as a logo belt, a backpack and an iPhone X case.
Fiona Firth, buying director at Mr Porter, told BoF that the company was eager to team up with Off-White to tap into the streetwear-buying younger generation, saying: “”It’s really important to tap into different segments of customers, so obviously the people who are buying Tom Ford and [Brunello] Cucinelli and Loro Piana probably aren’t Off-White customers, and that’s absolutely fine, they will be Vuitton customers.” (Abloh is also the creative director of menswear at Louis Vuitton.)
The collaboration is the latest in a string of high-profile partnerships for Off-White, which has worked with Nike, Moncler, Vans and Levi’s, among others. The newest collection marks the start of a busy year for Abloh, who will unveil his Fall/Winter 2019 menswear collection for Louis Vuitton in Paris this week, as well as unveiling his newly-announced eponymous jewelry line. – Relaxnews
