BINTULU: The Bintulu Public Works Department (PWD) has identified 19 bridges in the Murum and Kakus areas that require immediate repairs to avoid problems during the monsoon season.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, stated that repairing the bridges in these areas is crucial to prevent major issues during the monsoon season.
According to him, PWD Bintulu has taken the right step by identifying the bridges that need repairs and collaborating with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Port Development Sarawak (MTEID) to resolve the issue.
“Although there has been negative feedback regarding collapsed bridges, as viral on social media, proactive action and problem-solving are the main priorities to ensure the safety and stability of the infrastructure,” he explained.
