BAU: Police here have praised the residents of Kampung Sebobok for their crucial role in resolving a motorcycle theft case reported in the Padawan district.

According to the Bau district police headquarters (IPD), the incident happened around 1.30 am last Sunday (Aug 4) when vigilant villagers noticed a group of men behaving suspiciously on motorcycles in their village.

Sensing something amiss, the residents attempted to intervene. However, the group fled the scene, with one member crashing his motorcycle into a ditch before fleeing with the group.

Police were quickly alerted to the scene to recover the high-powered motorcycle.

Upon investigation, police confirmed that the crashed motorcycle was reportedly stolen in Padawan area on April 3.

It was believed that the group was attempting to transport stolen motorcycles across the border to a neighbouring country.

Following their efforts, the Bau IPD extended their gratitude to Kampung Sebobok residents, whose quick actions and cooperation led to the discovery of the motorcycle theft case.
