KUALA LUMPUR: The approachable and down-to-earth nature of Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, was on full display during their visit to the Genting Highlands Premium Outlets (GHPO) today.
The couple, who were out shopping at one of the stores in the outlet, took the time to engage with the public, shaking hands with several visitors who were excited to meet them and take photos.
Among those who had the chance to interact with them were a young couple from Kuching, Chua Kang Zheng, 25, and Sammi Chew, 23.
The couple, who had been waiting outside the store hoping to catch a glimpse of Wan Junaidi and wife, expressed their delight at the opportunity to meet them in person for the first time.
“Yes, we waited because we wanted to take a photo with Tun Pehin Sri and Toh Puan. We’re both from Kuching. I live in Green Road, while my girlfriend lives in Batu Kawa,” said Chua.
Throughout their visit, the Sarawak Governor and his wife were warmly greeted by other visitors at the outlet, many of whom also took the opportunity to snap photos with the distinguished couple.
The excitement among the public was palpable, and the warm reception continued as they made their way through the premises.
The couple arrived at the GHPO at 11.20 am, accompanied by their entourage.
They were welcomed by the management team, including senior operations manager Alan Teoh Song Loon, senior executive officer of Services Mohd Fansuri Hamzah, and other GHPO officials.
Before concluding their visit, the GHPO officials did not miss the chance to capture a memorable group photo with Wan Junaidi and his wife.
During their visit, the couple also took a break for lunch at Absolute Thai, a restaurant in the GHPO known for its authentic Thai cuisine.
