Sarawak prepares to host over 1,000 media workers for SUKMA 2024

KUCHING: Sarawak is set to welcome more than 1,000 media practitioners from across the country who will cover the 21st Malaysia Games (SUKMA) 2024, set to commence on August 17.

Preparations are currently in full swing to accommodate the print, electronic and online media professionals who will be stationed in Kuching.

To ensure everything runs smoothly, Deputy State Secretary (Operations) and SUKMA Sarawak 2024 chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Hii Chang Kee inspected the final preparations at two media centres in the city ahead of their activation today.

The two media centres include the Main Media Centre for SUKMA Sarawak 2024 located at the Pandelela Rinong Aquatic Center in Petra Jaya, and the Broadcasting Centre for SUKMA Sarawak 2024 located at Sarawak Stadium, Petra Jaya.

Minister of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah will be officiating at the launching of these centres this afternoon (Aug 10).

Also present during the inspection was Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) director Samuel Simon.
