SIBU: A search for a missing woman ended tragically after her body was found in the Rajang River yesterday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Sandy Ng Pin Pin.

According to a family member, Ng’s belongings were found near the Waterfront Residence earlier in the day, raising concerns about her whereabouts.

Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) personnel were alerted at 1.51 pm and promptly deployed to the scene along with the police.

Members of the public reportedly discovered Ng’s body around 3.30 pm, approximately 500 meters from where she is believed to have entered the water.

Bomba successfully retrieved the body, which was then handed over to the police for further investigation.

The search and rescue operation concluded at 4.12 pm.
