MIRI: A road accident at Simpang Ladang Tawakal, Jalan Persisir Pantai here last night left a 20-year-old man critically injured.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the incident took place around 8.39 pm, involving a blue Perodua Viva driver who was reported to have lost control of his vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and crashing into an electric pole.
The impact left the victim unconscious and seriously injured.
Passers-by were quick to respond, pulling the unconscious victim from the wreckage before emergency services arrived.
Firefighters quickly stabilised the victim by fitting a cervical collar and transferring him onto a stretcher.
He was then handed over to the ambulance team for urgent medical treatment. The full extent of his injuries is not known.
