MIRI: The Brunei Darussalam sepak takraw squad arrived at the Sungai Tujuh Immigration, Customs, Quarantine, and Security (ICQS) Complex here this morning.

The 11 players and three officials, reached the complex at 10.40 am.

The team will be competing in the 2024 SUKMA Sarawak from Aug 17 to 24.

A total of 488 events will be contested across 37 different sports, with 236 men’s events, 217 women’s events, and 35 mixed or open events.

In addition to the Brunei team, softball teams from Selangor, Sabah, Labuan, Johor, Pahang, and Negeri Sembilan are expected to arrive in here tomorrow (Aug 13).

Their arrival times are scheduled between 7.55 am and 7.40 pm.

The events will be held in nine locations across Sarawak, including Kuching, which will host 25 types of sports, followed by Miri with six, and Sibu, Mukah, and Bintulu, each hosting three types of sports.

The competing contingents will be accommodated at various institutions, including Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) in Kota Samarahan, Laila Taib College in Sibu, UiTM Campus Mukah, UPM Campus Bintulu, and IKBN Miri.
