SERIAN: A garbage truck caught fire in Bukit Rasau, along the road to Gedung, Serian today (Aug 15).
According to reports, the incident was reported at 2.27pm prompting a dispatch from the Serian Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) to the scene.
Upon arrival, the fire, which affected 20 per cent of the garbage storage area at the rear of the truck, was quickly brought under control by the firefighters utilising a hose reel, a fire engine pump, and water from the fire engine’s tank.
The fire was fully contained by 3.30pm, and the team then escorted the truck to a disposal site to ensure that the fire was completely extinguished before returning to the station.
No injuries were reported in the incident, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
