KUCHING: In preparation for Ramadan next month which will see the return of the ever-popular Ramadan bazaars, the State Health Department held a meeting with the relevant enforcement agencies.
The meeting was chaired by the department’s deputy director (food safety and quality) Mohammad Jefri Crossley at the department’s premises at Jalan Diplomatik here, yesterday.
“This shows the good cooperation between enforcement agencies involved in monitoring the Ramadan bazaars as well as to ensure that they will run smoothly.
“More importantly, we want to make sure that they are no cases of food poisoning this year,” said Jefri.
He said appropriate actions and initiatives would be taken to tackle issues related to the health and safety of food and drinks sold at Ramadan bazaars.
The meeting also saw the distribution of aprons, caps, and food safety pamphlets to representatives from the various government agencies present.
