SIBU: The afternoon session of the 21st Malaysia Games (SUKMA XXI) badminton group stage matches on Saturday saw Sarawak, Negeri Sembilan, Perak, and Johor emerged victorious against their opponents.
In Group A, Sarawak won 3-2 against Sabah, leaving the latter to accept consecutive defeats after losing 5-0 to Selangor earlier in the morning.
Meanwhile, in the Group B match in the afternoon, Negeri Sembilan redeemed their morning defeat against the Federal Territories (5-0) by winning 3-2 against Kelantan.
For Group C, Pahang was defeated by Perak with a score of 3-2, causing them to experience consecutive losses, as they were also defeated by Melaka with a score of 3-2 earlier.
As for Group D, Perlis suffered two consecutive losses after being defeated 5-0 by Johor, following a 5-0 loss to Penang in the morning group match.
Sunday’s group matches will start as early as 10 am, featuring matchups between Group A (Sarawak vs. Selangor), Group B (Federal Territories vs. Kelantan), Group C (Melaka vs. Perak), and Group D (Penang vs. Johor).
