MIRI: A total of 250 dogs were vaccinated against rabies today (Aug 18) as the Miri Veterinary Department Services (DVS) continues its mass vaccination programme.
The programme entered its second week at Taman Awam, following its launch at Kampung Senadin last week.
According to the department, over 2,400 dogs have been vaccinated thus far.
“We are committed to providing this service free of charge, and we encourage residents to participate actively in the programme,” said Senadin assemblyman Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin during a visit to Taman Awan to observe the vaccination process.
“It’s important to bring your dogs for vaccination, especially since some may not have been vaccinated for up to a year.”
The programme aimed to control and eventually eradicates rabies in the city through close collaboration with the community.
