KUCHING: The Sarawak men’s hockey team went down 0-4 defeat to Kelantan in a match to determine the placing for the ninth to 12th positions at the 21st Malaysia Games (SUKMA) today.
Kelantan opened accounts as early as the second minute of the first quarter, putting early pressure on Sarawak.
Shortly after, Kelantan adding the second and third goals, extending their lead to 3-0.
Sarawak tried to fight back in the third quarter with a more aggressive and organised play, but their efforts to break through Kelantan’s solid defence were unsuccessful.
In the fourth quarter, Kelantan continued to dominate the match with another goal, sealing a 4-0 victory.
Sarawak will compete against Selangor next to determine the 11th and 12th positions.
Kelantan, on the other hand, advance to the match for the ninth position.
